Publication Standards

Editorial Policy

How we approach sources, claims, corrections and transparency.

Our standards for useful, accurate and transparent coverage.

Scope and relevance

We focus on green energy and technology. Coverage should help readers understand a development, evaluate a claim or make a more informed decision. Headlines should reflect the substance of the article rather than exaggerate benefits or certainty.

Sources and verification

Material factual claims should be supported by identifiable sources. We favour original research, official technical documentation, first-hand evidence and relevant expert explanation. Press releases and vendor materials should be identified as such. Conflicting evidence and significant limitations should be acknowledged.

Environmental and performance claims

Claims about emissions, efficiency, savings, recyclability or sustainability need context. Coverage should explain relevant assumptions, operating conditions, time periods and system boundaries. Estimates must be described as estimates, and a manufacturer’s claim must not be presented as an independently verified result.

Reviews and product coverage

Articles should state whether they draw on hands-on experience, published specifications, research or a combination. We do not imply that a product has been tested when it has not. Free products, loans, sponsorships and other material relationships should be disclosed. Payment does not determine a review score or guarantee a favourable recommendation.

Authorship and updates

Articles should have an identifiable author or an accountable editorial byline. Publication dates and meaningful update dates help readers judge timeliness. Older information should not be presented as a new development without explanation.

AI-assisted work

AI tools may assist with research organisation, transcription, outlining or language editing. Human review remains necessary for factual accuracy, sourcing, originality and context. AI output is not a source by itself. Material use of synthetic imagery or generated demonstrations should be labelled where it could otherwise mislead readers. Fabricated quotes, sources and first-hand experiences are unacceptable.

Commercial independence and contributions

Sponsored work should be clearly labelled. Guest contributions and company submissions remain subject to relevance, originality and editorial review. Commercial relationships do not remove the need to correct inaccurate claims. Contributors must have the right to use submitted text, photographs and other material.

Corrections

We review specific, supported reports of errors. Substantive corrections should be made transparently, with a correction note where the change materially affects the article. Minor spelling or formatting edits may be made without a separate notice.
